Metal scrap is required by the metallurgical industry not only for economic reasons but also for purely technical ones as it forms a substantial part of the charge of modern steel-making units. Steel is the most widely used structural material and that is why the steel scrap takes the most important position as regards metal scrap. Dimensional preparation of scrap together with careful removal of metallurgically unsuitable particles is a very important step on the way to economic valorization of this raw material.
