Biggest Castings for Power Industry

We continue the cooperation tradition by the turbine-casing contract being the greatest by its volume. As to the work history of ŽĎAS company, these are the castings of greatest weight intended for power industry. The gross weight of the turbine-casing casting is 33 tons; it will be used to produce the steam turbine with a power of 250 MW.

The last similar delivery of such a large turbine was realized for the company ŠKODA POWER in the year 2002. It was a 31-ton casting that time.

There is a continuous growth in power industry in India.  At the present time there are, however, still frequent power outages even in larger towns; in some areas, mainly rural ones, the electrification has not been yet executed at all.

It is said that, since 2030, India is to be the most populous country all over the world, thus overtaking China.
