
The company ŽĎAS has delivered 180 pieces of beams for the detector of the largest particle accelerator for space research in the world - LHC (Large Hadron Collider). Eight years ago, ŽĎAS delivered the engineering solution, casting and forging of connecting rods of the carrying cylinder for the CMS magnet and even won a gold prize for the best engineering product of the year 2000 from the CERN for the beams. The largest accelerator of the smallest mass particles - LHC has been built at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva. More than 10 000 physicists and about 500 research institutes and companies from all over the world including the Czech Republic took part in the preparation of this accelerator.
